Competent Supervisor Training

Ontario’s Health & Safety Act states employers must appoint competent supervision. In some cases, these people may be just newly appointed. In other cases, they have been in the role for a while. This program is designed to give people an understanding of the requirements and the skills needed to take on supervisory responsibilities and challenges. There is an emphasis on practical exercises and real world experiences. We will delve into many of the areas that people in a supervisory role have to face but are never trained to deal with. Small groups are best for this program as there will be a number of out of class assignments to re-enforce what has been learned and discussed. These assignments will provide an examination of the individual’s own make-up. They will identify what their strengths are and how to capitalize on them. We’ll also look for those areas where development must take place in order to be effective.
